The Role of Economics in Mitigating Unsustainability of Fisheries: Dealing with Ecosystems, Environmental Fluctuations, Governance and Trade

The forum followed successful prior NAAFE events held in New Orleans, Virginia, and Vancouver, Canada. NAAFE's 2007 forum was organized by Dr. Juan Carlos Seijo of the Universidad Marista de Merida and was comprised of 2 1/2 days of conference sessions, March 28‐30, plus a one day post‐conference tour to the fishing port of San Felipe on the nearby Yucatan coast, Saturday, March 31. An optional pre‐conference workshop on Spatial Bioeconomic Analysis of Coastal Fisheries was offered March 27.
