Submit your abstract for the NAAFE 2021 Best Student Presentation Award!

The NAAFE Board and Marine Resource Economics are pleased to announce the NAAFE 2021 Best Student Presentation Award!

With the cancellation of many conferences and the move to virtual events, we want to offer a platform for students to share their research.

1st and 2nd place winners will receive a cash prize of $300 and $200, respectively. This award is sponsored by the Marine Resource Economics Foundation. By supporting this award, the MRE Foundation recognizes the importance of effective oral presentation of economic analysis and policy implications in a professional and public setting. Until we are able to network and communicate research in-person again, we want to learn about your current research on this new platform.

Presentations will take place in late May and early June (during North American business hours) and will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Quality of visual aids.
  • Presentation style.
  • Time management. (We expect presentation slots to be roughly 10 minutes.)
  • Content (in that the study is well-motivated and results are well-interpreted).

The Best Student Virtual Presentation Award is available to all individuals who are currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master's or PhD). The student does not need to be first author but must be the presenter. All student presenters must be NAAFE members prior to their presentation.

Submit your 250 word abstract here by 22 March 2021 for consideration.

Please contact [email protected] with any questions about abstract submission or NAAFE membership.
